So over the past few days, I’ve been working on a server. Got a nice HP microserver- it’s very fancy and well thought out with one exception, that is, a MOLEX connector for an optical drive instead of a modern sata power connector. Otherwise it is very swell. Windows Home Server will probably find its way onto this box, once the order comes through. In the meantime, I think I’ll try installing OSX on it. Such a headache…

In any case, I was at a friends house earlier and watched the 1997 movie Contact. I liked the movie, although the ending was very unsatisfactory. As if the politicians were smarter than the scientist. Ha.

Also, a bunch of stuff came in the mail today, mostly myhabit, but also a box of thinkgeek products. Very entertaining. All of these things are motivating me a lot do be successful- just think of all the nerdy things I can buy!

Today was very similar to the day before- I spent a few hours typing up some Polish text onto the computer- it’s quite difficult. However, I had a decent day on myhabit- helped a friend get something, as well as getting something for my mother for some occasion. The only person left that I need to cover for gifts is probably my grandfather. It will be quite the conundrum to figure out what he wants.

I was also nicely surprised by one of my friends paintings; I wish I was as talented with a brush, or even just a crayon…

Lastly, I spoke with my advisor in college: I have received a multitude of credit hours from my AP’s, and I should be able to qualify for second year status after the first quarter, which comes with certain benefits. Most importantly though, I have the option of taking a particular graduate course related to my major earlier than anyone else does, so that should prove interesting. I should be getting the textbook soon.

So today I woke up quite early- I suppose my brain is saying “it’s time for class” already… I spent my time listening to and playing music until about 13:00, which is when I left to see my doctor. I was hoping to have some people over after that, but my mother chose to stay home and clean until she felt it was time to leave for my grandparent’s house where she then helped with revising my grandfather’s biography which I typed up in the first place. The past few weeks have revolved around my grandfather, who will be featured in some encyclopedia; the whole family has been helping out with compiling lists of compositions and other necessary details.

After my mom left I tried out the new “Worms Special Edition,” and I discussed with some friends the possibility of renting a server for ourselves. Such a server, or servers would fulfill our minecrafting, and other needs. So far everything looks prohibitive, but I’m sure we’ll figure something out.

Lastly, the first of my close friends is leaving in a few days for college. Hopefully I’ll be able to see all my friends again during thanksgiving break.

So my friend has asked me to join her in her quest to blog. So here I am.

Today I’ve been quite busy- cleaned the house a bit, froze a bunch of blueberries, played some piano, printed a birthday card for my friend, and ordered a bunch of things from Thinkgeek.
